FABRIX

:-)

Fabrix was the first cloth simulator on the market for Softimage, and was way ahead of its time.  We beat Maya cloth to market by several months and got rave reviews on how much easier our interface was navigate.

We had an awesome beta test at Digital Domain on the Coke Jitterbug commercial and helped DD win a clio.

We were head to head on the technology front with maya… they just had about 6 million more marketing dollars than we did.  Its hard to stand up to a giant.

Mata Hari – Motek amsterdam

1998 – 7 layers of cloth with collisions and self collisions. Render-time 6 hours a frame.

This was a still from a WIP (sorry about the wacko arms) we were running parallel pipelines with and that was being resolved in the mo-cap department.

Corset 1998

This was constructed by scaling and pinning the pattern panels to force puckering and gathering of the ruffles.  Target fabric was chiffon with a blocked lining.  To make the pattern I pulled the edges from the UV contours and then cut them into logical pieces.
